Actors Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden have reportedly tied the knot in a private ceremony at Edinburgh Central Registrar’s Office, located within the City Chambers. Guests were reportedly sworn to secrecy regarding the event, according to a publication report.
The couple first met on the set of the 2018 past drama Mary Queen of Scots, where Ronan starred as Mary Stuart and Lowden portrayed her second husband, Henry Darnley.
During a panel discussion with AOL, Lowden praised Ronan’s talent and professionalism. “It was remarkable working with Saoirse,” he said. “The woman is a force of nature on and off-screen, and utterly fearless and a brilliant leader as well. For being 24 years old, it’s just constantly amazing to me, not just her work, but how she is on a set is amazing.”
Ronan, an Irish-American actress, gained widespread recognition for her roles in films like Atonement (2007), Brooklyn (2015), and lady Bird (2017), earning multiple Academy Award nominations. Lowden, a Scottish actor, is known for his work in theater, television, and film, including roles in war & Peace (2016) and Fighting with My Family (2019).
Ronan is currently slated to appear in the upcoming film Bad Apples.Lowden is set to portray Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy in a new Netflix adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice.
