From Judo to Basketball: Santa Marta Unveils Diverse Sports Program for 2025/2026
santa Marta residents will have access to a thorough sports program this coming season, with the City Council offering 13 different disciplines across its municipal facilities. The program, designed for the 2025/2026 season, caters to a wide range of ages and interests.
According to Jorge Valiente, head of the area, the program is directly responsive to community needs.”Every year we adapt to the needs of users through those who know the sports preferences of the population.In addition, thanks to the constant work of the City Council, we have facilities that facilitate the practice of almost any sports discipline, so we can afford a wide and varied offer,” he stated.
The diverse offerings include aquatic activities at the Municipal Pool, open to all ages. For aspiring athletes, the Tennis School welcomes individuals born in 2022 or earlier, while the Judo school begins instruction for children as young as three years old. Skating classes are available for both adults and children born in 2021 or before. Participants in Kickboxing and Table Tennis classes must have been born in 2020 or earlier.
Team sports are also well-represented.The Football School is open to those born between 2008 and 2021, the Basketball School to those born between 2010 and 2019, and the Handball school to those born between 2014 and 2018. Younger football enthusiasts can join the Chupetis Soccer School, open to those born in 2020 and 2021. The Rhythmic gymnastics School accepts registrations for individuals born between 2011 and 2022, and the Athletics School requires participants to have been born in 2020 or later.
Rounding out the program is Maintenance gymnastics for seniors, promoting active lifestyles for all age groups.
