Ryan McNamara joined WDAY as a reporter in late 2024. A native of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, he completed his studies at st. Cloud State University in 2024.
During his tenure as a Husky, McNamara dedicated significant time to covering Husky hockey at “The herb” and calling Husky basketball games at Halenbeck Hall. He also gained experience over two summers with the St. Cloud Rox of the Northwoods League. Along with his news and sports responsibilities,McNamara provides play-by-play commentary for high school sports events in North Dakota and Minnesota.
Outside of his professional duties, McNamara prioritizes physical fitness through weightlifting, enjoys golfing, and follows college basketball with the goal of achieving a perfect March Madness bracket.
