Sana and Junho detail grueling K-pop schedules on YouTube

October 3, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

Extreme performance schedules in the K-pop industry can lead to severe sleep deprivation, with idols revealing they once went nearly two weeks without lying down on a bed and lost all memory of recording a number-one hit song. Speaking on the October 1st episode of the YouTube channel Ch117 titled “Fox’s Devil, Senior Junho Appears,” TWICE member Sana and 2PM member Junho detailed the grueling reality of year-end broadcast marathons.

the conversation started when Sana asked Junho about past year-end schedules, noting she had heard he once spent a full week without a bed. Junho corrected her, stating the stretch actually lasted about 12 days. The timeline coincided with three major annual programs: Gayo Daechukje, Gayo Daejeon, and Gayo Daejejeon, held on December 29th, 30th, and 31st.

Twelve Days Without a Bed and the Blur of Year-End Broadcasts

Junho explained the relentless cycle required by the late-December events. After finishing the stage on December 29th, the group immediately prepared for the following night’s broadcast. Practice ran through the night, followed by early morning rehearsals, live broadcasts, commercial shoots, and transit between public appearances.

Sleep during that 12-day window occurred exclusively inside moving vehicles.

Memory Loss and Chart-Topping Surprises on the Road

“We recorded, and then while going to schedules and broadcasts, we would stop briefly at a rest area,” Junho said, detailing how the group heard a newly released track playing with their own voices. Without any recollection of stepping into a recording booth for the track, they wondered what the song was, only to discover it had climbed to the number one spot on the charts.

Sanitary Realities and the Cost of Continuous Schedules

The discussion also touched on the physical upkeep required during intense promotional windows. Sana shared a striking detail about TWICE’s own grueling promotional cycles, noting that members occasionally went three days without washing or fully removing their stage makeup. Instead of standard cleansing, members removed only the base layer to prepare for the next performance, boarding planes in the exact stage outfits they had just worn.

Sweat-Drenched Costumes Behind the Glamour

Junho confirmed that 2PM experienced similar conditions, noting that members frequently stayed in sweat-drenched stage costumes because the time required for proper hygiene simply did not exist within the calendar.
