San Luis Potosí Congress Budget: Consultations & Pension Adjustments

by Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor

San Luis potosí, SLP – State‌ legislators will not receive a raise, and funding for legally mandated consultations won’t arrive until 2026, according to Deputy Héctor Serrano Cortés, president of the Political Coordination⁢ Board (JUCOPO) of the State Congress.

Serrano stated that resources for‍ consultations on various legal regulations, ordered by jurisdictional bodies, are projected for the⁤ fiscal year 2026. He clarified that the current budget does not include any adjustments to legislators’ salaries.⁢ “Even the diet ⁣for the deputies decreased since the last Legislature. The proposal was ‌presented to reduce it and until this moment, it has not even been an‍ issue that we have proposed at the table, we will continue with the same diet,” he said.

The State Congress will⁤ receive 10 million pesos in the adaptation ⁢of the Income Law and the 2025 expenditure Budget of the Executive Branch, earmarked ‌for annual worker increases and pension obligations. “There is a pension fund that is not enough, and then‌ the government has to subsidize, and it has to make the necessary adjustments to cover those commitments that are obviously ⁢historic,” Serrano explained.

He confirmed that a request for ⁢consultation funding has already been submitted. “But we already⁣ requested it, which ⁤is what we have been insisting on. ‌In fact, it is known that there is an ⁤order and we are obliged to transfer the responsibility of sending the resource to whom it corresponds, but it will obviously be‍ for the‍ year 2026,” Serrano said. The ⁣next budget proposal, due November 20,will determine whether the request is included, pending the Executive branch’s decision.
