The Season of Sharing Fund has received significant donations totaling $3.4 million, according to recent reports. Leading the contributions is the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund with a donation of $1.3 million. A $1.1 million contribution was made in memory of Hal Horowitz, and Arthur & Toni Rembe Rock donated $1 million.
An anonymous San Francisco family also contributed $1 million to the fund. Michele and John McNellis provided $750,000, whereas the Linda M. Liles Revocable Trust donated $500,000.
Further donations included $100,000 from Philip D. Black & Brigitte Sandquist, Victor & Denice DeSimone (in memory of Jungle Junior and Lahti), Jerome & Thao Dodson, Irwin & Concepción Federman (in memory of Sheila Federman and Todd Valiente Woodman), Linda & Jon Gruber, Jennifer Hobart & Michael Katz (in honor of Mel Katz and Barbara Smith), the Lillian Lincoln Foundation (in memory of Lillian Lincoln Howell), Marie & Barry Lipman, Connie & Bob Lurie (in memory of Wally & Evie Haas), and Mo & John Pritzker.
Gifts between $75,000 and $99,999 were received from Betsy & Roy Eisenhardt (in memory of Walter A. Haas, Jr. & Evelyn Danzig Haas), The Falik Family (in memory of Harry Falik), William Fries II Foundation, John & Marcia Goldman Foundation, Colleen & Robert D. Haas (in memory of Walter A. Haas, Jr. & Evelyn Danzig Haas), Julie & Walter J. Haas (in memory of Walter A. All administrative costs for the Season of Sharing Fund are covered by the San Francisco Chronicle and the Evelyn and Walter Haas Jr. Fund, ensuring that 100% of donations directly benefit those facing crises.
