Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Series Announced: Specs, Price and Features
Samsung has officially announced its new Galaxy Tab S12 Series, featuring the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+. According to Samsung, the lineup is engineered to deliver heavy-duty performance, advanced productivity, and extensive Galaxy AI integration for mobile professionals, students, and creators.
A 5.1-Millimeter Profile and Up to 23 Hours of Power
The flagship Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra measures just 5.1 millimeters in thickness, making it the slimmest Galaxy Tab ever produced by Samsung. Despite the thin chassis, the Ultra model packs an 11,600 mAh battery that Samsung states will last up to 23 hours on a single charge.
The slightly smaller Galaxy Tab S12+ houses a 10,600 mAh battery offering up to 21 hours of runtime under identical test conditions. Both units support 45W fast charging.
MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Processing Power
Performance is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. Samsung reports that the Ultra’s dedicated NPU is 61 percent faster than the previous hardware generation, alongside a 19 percent boost to CPU performance and a 17 percent improvement in GPU capabilities compared to the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. A redesigned 3D Vapor Chamber handles thermal dissipation during demanding multi-application workflows.
1,600-Nit Dynamic AMOLED 2X Screens
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 14,6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 2960 by 1848 resolution, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ utilizes a 12,6-inch panel running at 2800 by 1752 pixels. Both screens offer a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, supported by an upgraded Vision Booster utility that automatically shifts screen luminance according to ambient lighting.
Android 17, Multi Window, and Google Gemini
Running on Android 17 with One UI 9, the devices support Multi Window configurations enabling up to three concurrent active panes. The bundled S Pen works alongside AI utilities such as Note Assist for automated text summarization, alongside Google Gemini integration which includes a six-month trial of Google AI Pro.
Preinstalled Adobe Photoshop and Creative Bundles
Samsung is shipping the new tablets with Adobe Photoshop preinstalled, marking a first for Android-tier tablets. Additional creative platforms—including Notability, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion, and Clip Studio Paint—are accessible via bundled trials and platform-exclusive promotional offers.
Physical hardware details include a quad-speaker layout with four-channel spatial audio, a slot for microSD cards up to 2TB, an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, and an optical fingerprint scanner embedded beneath the display. Each device includes an S Pen in the retail box and connects to optional peripherals such as the Pro Keyboard and the Book Cover Keyboard Slim.
Benelux Release and Seven Generations of Upgrades
The Galaxy Tab S12 Series will launch across the Benelux region on October 7, available in Gray and Silver colorways. The Galaxy Tab S12+ starts at a recommended retail price of 1,299 euros, while the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starts at 1,539 euros. Samsung has confirmed that both models will receive up to seven generations of operating system upgrades and corresponding security patches.
