Samsung Galaxy S25 and S26 Updates: AI Call Screening, One UI 8.5 and AirDrop Support

April 7, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 series will receive AI-powered call screening features, bringing functionality previously associated with the S26 series to the older hardware.

The AI call screening capability will be integrated into the One UI 8.5 update. According to industry reports, the stable version of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 is expected to be released in approximately one month. Beyond the call screening tool, the update is designed to introduce a wide range of latest customization options for Samsung Galaxy users.

iOS Interoperability and File Sharing

Samsung is implementing updates to improve file sharing between its ecosystem and Apple’s iOS. A new update expands AirDrop support to a broader range of devices, specifically including models from the Galaxy S22 through the Galaxy S25.

the company has enabled direct file transfers between Samsung and iOS devices that do not require the installation of additional third-party applications. This specific interoperability feature is available starting with the Galaxy S26 series.

Security Maintenance and User Sentiment

The Galaxy S25 has already received its security update for April 2026. This maintenance occurs alongside reports that some Galaxy S25 users have expressed dissatisfaction with Samsung.

The rollout of the stable One UI 8.5 version remains the next scheduled milestone for the Galaxy S25 series.
