Samsung Exynos 2700 Reportedly Outperforms Snapdragon 8 Elite in Internal Benchmarks

August 26, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

According to Frandroid, Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor features a maximum clock frequency of 5 GHz. The chip details emerge alongside competing developments from Samsung and MediaTek as major manufacturers prepare their next-generation mobile silicon.

## Samsung Performance Testing and Rival Chips

During internal tests, Samsung’s Exynos 2700 processor outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro in both CPU and GPU performance metrics, according to Vietnam.vn. Samsung reportedly developed the Exynos 2700 with the goal of challenging Qualcomm’s flagship dominance in upcoming device lineups like the anticipated Galaxy S27 series, as reported by Les Numériques and Android MTL. PhonAndroid notes that while Qualcomm has assigned lengthy naming conventions to its upcoming silicon, market performance benchmarks remain a central focus for the company.

## MediaTek and Qualcomm Deployments

Alongside Qualcomm’s developments, MediaTek officially introduced its Dimensity 9500 chipset, according to Svetandroida. Meanwhile, Qualcomm rolled out its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 featuring a third-generation Oryon CPU with clock speeds reaching up to 4.6 GHz, built on a 3nm manufacturing process. Svetandroida reports that the Gen 5 platform includes an Adreno GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, an Hexagon NPU with agentic artificial intelligence capabilities, and an integrated Snapdragon X85 5G modem supporting downlink speeds up to 12.5 Gbps. Qualcomm confirmed that devices utilizing its top-tier processors will launch across global markets through brands including Xiaomi, Samsung, OnePlus, OPPO, vivo, Honor, and Sony.
