Samsung Adds Classical Melodies to Galaxy S26 Ringtones
Samsung Electronics has introduced two modern ringtones featuring classical masterpieces for the Galaxy S26 series. The new audio additions are based on compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel, designed to provide a more immersive auditory experience in daily use.
Nature-Inspired Sound Philosophy
The integration of these classical pieces aligns with Galaxy’s central sound design concept, “Inspired by nature.” This philosophy is applied across all interaction sounds on the devices, ranging from tactile touch feedback to primary ringtones. By extending this framework to classical music, the company aims to create a more refined auditory interaction for users.
Among the new additions is the “Prélude” from Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1. Samsung noted that the piece’s inherent symmetry, repetition, and harmony are intended to evoke natural patterns, specifically the movement of ocean waves and the growth of plants.
The series likewise includes “Alla Hornpipe” from Handel’s Water Music Suite No. 2. This composition is historically recognized for its performance on the River Thames for King George and is characterized by a structured progression and fluid rhythm.
Historical Context and Production
These specific classical pieces are not new to the company’s ecosystem; both were previously utilized as ringtones during the Anycall era of the 1990s and 2000s. Their reintroduction to the Galaxy S26 is positioned as a return of familiar and nostalgic melodies.
The production of the sounds involved a global collaboration to ensure high audio quality. The recording process took place at Abbey Road Studios, the world’s first recording studio and the site of numerous iconic Beatles recordings.
The technical execution was split between two international hubs. Jonathan Allan managed the recording and mixing stages in London, while Tae Ho Lee of MiXNBLE handled the final masterization in Seoul.
