Samoa Joe Vows to “Amend” Disappointing First ⁤AEW Title Reign,Earns Championship Possibility

East Rutherford,NJ – Samoa Joe is‌ determined to recapture⁣ the AEW World ‌Championship, viewing his‌ previous reign as ⁢incomplete and ‍taking⁣ personal responsibility for failing to hold ⁤the title. Just one week after a post-match assault on former champion “Hangman” Adam Page, Joe secured ⁤a shot at the championship by winning a four-way match against Hook, Bobby Lashley, and Ricochet on October 29th’s AEW Fright Night dynamite.

Joe, a rare multi-time World champion across‌ major wrestling promotions-having previously held titles in Ring of Honor, TNA,⁢ WWE, and AEW-admitted his initial AEW run⁣ “was‌ not what we hoped it would be” in a recent interview with “STL Sports Central.” He emphasized a champion’s mindset, stating, “Anytime you are ⁣not the possessor of the AEW⁤ World championship, you should be taking it personally.” This sentiment fuels his current pursuit,⁢ following a loss to ⁢Swerve Strickland at AEW Dynasty in May, and subsequent defeats against⁢ Jon⁢ Moxley and⁢ Page.

The loss to Page ‌at WrestleDream on October 18th triggered ⁣a heel turn for Joe, alongside teammates Powerhouse Hobbs and katsuyori shibata, ⁤who attacked ‌Page after⁢ the match. This aggressive ⁣move‌ solidified Joe’s intent and paved the way for his victory in the four-way‍ contest, establishing him as the number one contender. Joe’s next challenge for the AEW ‍World Championship is yet to be announced.
