Sam Hiersteiner has received an endorsement for his candidacy for Concord Select Board from Chase Thompson, a local small-business owner and former volunteer member of the Town Meeting Study Committee.
Thompson, in a statement, cited Hiersteiner’s “forward-looking mindset” as crucial for Concord’s future, particularly as the town faces significant decisions regarding development, infrastructure, and its local economy. These decisions, Thompson argues, will determine Concord’s ability to attract investment, foster growth, and retain families.
Hiersteiner’s background includes experience as a consultant, philanthropic executive, and civic education professional, which Thompson believes provides him with a unique understanding of the interconnectedness of economic vitality, quality of life, and civic engagement. This understanding is particularly relevant, Thompson stated, as Concord considers “some of the biggest opportunities and challenges it has seen in generations.”
Beyond his professional experience, Thompson highlighted Hiersteiner’s communication skills, emphasizing his ability to listen, clarify complex issues, and build consensus. Thompson also noted Hiersteiner’s involvement in the community as a parent, coach, volunteer, and board member, suggesting he understands the impact of town policies on both families and businesses.
According to a report from The Concord Bridge, Hiersteiner is being positioned as a candidate who can represent the evolving needs of the town. Thompson’s endorsement explicitly frames Hiersteiner as someone who will bring “energy, balance, and a forward-looking mindset” to the Select Board.
