Salzburg Verkehr Shuttle App: New Version & Booking Details (2026)

March 25, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

Salzburg, Austria – A fully revamped Salzburg Verkehr Shuttle app launched today, March 25, 2026, offering users a more stable and efficient on-demand mobility solution. The fresh app is available for download in both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, with users able to book rides for April immediately. The previous version of the app will be fully decommissioned on March 30, 2026.

The update represents a “decisive step in quality,” according to Johannes Gfrerer, Managing Director of Salzburger Verkehrsverbund GmbH. “Thanks to the modern software, we can offer our passengers a significantly more stable, efficient, and comfortable service. Our goal is to craft public transport even easier and more attractive in people’s everyday lives – and the new app is an important building block in achieving that,” Gfrerer stated.

The redesigned app features a modern, clearly structured interface and optimized booking technology. A key improvement is the integration of real-time traffic information and live data, allowing for more accurate prediction of travel and wait times, and dynamic adjustments to routes. This feature aims to provide a higher quality service with precise and convenient booking capabilities.

Stefan Schnöll, Deputy Governor of Salzburg, highlighted the popularity of the micro-mobility shuttle service. “The micro-mobility shuttles are being very well received. I am very pleased that people are joining us on this path of mobility transition. We seek to make public transport even more attractive through the comprehensive expansion of micro-mobility. This naturally includes an intuitive and attractive app solution for booking,” Schnöll said. “Through the flexible and demand-oriented design of micro-mobility, we can comfortably connect rural regions and bring public transport to the people. I want public transport to develop into the first choice for more and more people – regardless of whether they are inside or outside the city.”

Booking a shuttle through the app is a straightforward process. Users first select the desired shuttle system, then indicate whether the ride is needed immediately or at a later time, specifying the date and time. Start and destination addresses can be entered manually or selected via the app’s map interface.

A booking overview displays all details for confirmation or adjustment. Users can then select additional options, such as discounts or pet transport, before confirming the ride and receiving a booking confirmation with all relevant information. The app as well allows for easy cancellation of rides with a single click.

The Salzburg Verkehr Shuttle accepts the KlimaTicket Salzburg (CLASSIC, CLASSIC PLUS, SENIOR | EDELWEISS, U26, SPEZIAL, SEMESTER), KlimaTicket Österreich, the SUPER s’COOL-CARD, and the myRegio FerienCARD. In the Lungau region, the s’COOL-CARD is also valid. Other SVV tickets, including weekly, daily, or single tickets, as well as the Guest Mobility Ticket, also provide free travel. BürgerCARD holders pay only €1 per ride.
