Widow of Musician Mohamed Al-Sharnoubi Disputes Family Claims of Restricted Grandson Access
Cairo, Egypt – Sally Shibl, widow of the late Egyptian singer mohamed Al-Sharnoubi, has publicly responded to statements made by her father-in-law, musician Salah Al-Sharnoubi, regarding alleged restrictions on seeing his grandson, Omar. Shibl’s response, posted on her official Facebook account, details a series of disputes with family members following Al-Sharnoubi’s death on June 15th.
Shibl stated she received al-Sharnoubi’s message during a television appearance, but was delayed in responding due to ongoing mourning. She expressed a preference for private communication, stating, ”I do not follow the media out of respect for his dear memory. Communicate with me by phone or WhatsApp, as it is more appropriate for family matters.”
The core of Shibl’s rebuttal centers on accusations of being denied access to the apartment she shared with her late husband and son, Omar, as well as being blocked from receiving financial resources belonging to them. She claims, “We and Omar were prevented from entering our apartment…where the locks of the apartment were changed, and we were prevented from obtaining any dues that belong to us or Omar, your only grandson.”
Shibl also alleges she and her son have been repeatedly denied visits from Mohamed Al-Sharnoubi’s mother. furthermore, she revealed she received an abusive message from Mohamed Al-Sharnoubi’s brother, a message she still possesses but has chosen not to publicly release, citing the private nature of family matters.
Concluding her statement,Shibl urged Salah Al-Sharnoubi to verify the accuracy of his public claims, stating,”All I hope is to investigate the accuracy of what it announces or declares,as I will not be silent as it happened previously and for many years.”
