Carlos Sainz expressed satisfaction with his performance at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, stating it was “the maximum that we could do.” The Ferrari driver finished sixth in the race, a result he believes maximized the potential of his car during the weekend.
sainz’s comments come after a race marked by strategic challenges and intense competition. While Ferrari showed improved pace compared to earlier in the season, they still trailed behind Red Bull and McLaren. The Las Vegas Grand Prix marked a new addition to the Formula 1 calendar, presenting unique challenges with its late-night schedule and street circuit layout. Sainz’s result is crucial as teams now shift focus to the final races of the season and preparations for the 2024 championship battle.
“It was a good race, a clean race, and we managed to maximize everything we had,” Sainz said. “We were quick when we needed to be, and we managed the tires well.”
The Spaniard acknowledged the difficulty of overtaking on the Las Vegas circuit. “It’s a tricky track to overtake on, so to come away with P6 is a good result, especially considering where we started.”
Sainz’s teammate, Charles Leclerc, finished fifth, contributing to a solid points haul for Ferrari. The team is currently battling McLaren for fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship.
Looking ahead,Sainz emphasized the importance of continued progress. “We need to keep pushing and keep improving the car if we want to fight for more next year.”
