Quebec City: Major Road closure Planned for Chemin Sainte-Foy
Motorists in Quebec City’s Sainte-Foy-Sillery-Cap-Rouge district should prepare for notable traffic disruptions in 2025. A crucial section of Chemin Sainte-Foy, leading up too the Henri-IV motorway, will be closed for five months to facilitate extensive redevelopment work.

Starting May 14 and continuing until Oct. 31, 2025, vehicle traffic will be prohibited along a 350-meter stretch of Chemin Sainte-Foy, specifically between Rougemont and Jacques-Berthiaume streets. The city of Quebec announced the impending closure, acknowledging the inconvenience it will cause.

Alternative Routes and Mitigation
To mitigate the impact of the closure, the city will provide alternative routes for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists. Detours will be available via Cour des Quatre-Bourgeois and boulevard du Visant-Nord. The city urges everyone to be vigilant and follow the temporary signage that will be in place throughout the construction period.
