Sachsenliga Football Gets Major Digital boost with Live Streaming Partnership
Football fans in Saxony are in for a treat as the Sächsische zeitung and Leipziger Volkszeitung are set too revolutionize how the Sachsenliga (men) is consumed. Starting this season, both publications will broadcast a top-tier Sachsenliga match live every week, complete with live commentary, accessible to digital subscribers at no extra cost.For those without a subscription, spontaneous viewing of individual games will be possible, and free highlights of each match will be available across SZ and LVZ platforms.
The live streams will be hosted on dedicated pages: www.lvz.de/livesport and www.saechsische.de/livesport. SFV President Hermann Winkler expressed his enthusiasm for the new collaboration, highlighting its potential to enhance the attractiveness of the Sachsenliga. “We are pleased to have a new partner with Saxony medien GmbH for our Sachsenliga who makes our football even more attractive,” Winkler stated. “Clubs can present thier sporting performances and their regional sponsors with larger ranges and fans who do not make it to the stadium through work, vacation or departure can digitally with their team with fever.” This initiative extends beyond the Sachsenliga,with a live streaming offer also planned for the Regionalliga Nordost.
The new season kicks off on August 8, 2025, with the opening game of the Sachsenliga featuring SSV Markranstädt against SV Lipsia 93 Eutritzsch at 7:00 p.m. The summer break is officially over, and the action is set to begin!
