NORTH SAANICH - The Saanich Peninsula Hospital and Healthcare Foundation (SPHHF) announced today a record-breaking $1,097,758 raised at its annual Spirit Gala, bringing the total to over $1.1 million thanks to a generous matching donation.
The Crimson Cabaret-themed event, held November 15th at the Mary Winspear Center, initially generated $548,879 for the hospital’s ‘Enhancing Surgical Services and Parking’ campaign. A notable donor then stepped forward to match the full gala proceeds, effectively doubling the impact.
The funds will directly support improvements to surgical services and an expansion of parking facilities at Saanich Peninsula Hospital, addressing critical needs for the growing community and aiming to improve patient access and experience.
“we are deeply grateful for the extraordinary generosity shown at this year’s Spirit Gala,” said Heather Edward, CEO of the foundation. “To see our community come together in this way, and to have the entire gala total matched by a donor, is truly remarkable. This record-breaking success will make a meaningful difference for patients, families, and staff.”
The SPHHF expressed its gratitude to the event’s sponsors, silent auction donors, volunteers, attendees, and all supporters who contributed to the evening’s success. The foundation highlighted the strong community spirit demonstrated throughout the event.
