Trump Announces Potential Middle East Breakthrough Following Urgent Note
Donald Trump was engaged in a roundtable discussion on antifa with cabinet members and conservative influencers on Wednesday when Secretary of State marco Rubio interrupted the meeting. Rubio approached the President and discreetly handed him a note on White House letterhead.
An Associated Press photographer captured an image of the note, wich read: “Very close. You need to approve a post on Truth Social soon, so you can announce the deal first.”
After reviewing the message, Trump informed those present, “I just received a note from the Secretary of State saying that we are very close to an agreement in the Middle East, and that they will need me shortly.”
Despite the apparent urgency conveyed by Rubio, Trump continued with the roundtable for approximately ten minutes before announcing, “I have to go now to try to solve some problems in the Middle East, although I am very well represented by our Secretary of State.” He added, “He could probably do even better than me, but who knows. We don’t want to take any chances, so we’re going to deal with it… We’re going to get peace in the Middle East.”
Trump then requested Attorney General Pam Bondi and Secretary of Homeland security Kristi Noem to carry on with the event in his absence.
Shortly after, Trump announced via a post, presumably on Truth Social, “I am proud to announce that Israel and hamas have approved the first phase of our Peace Plan. This means that all the hostages will be released very soon and that Israel will withdraw its troops to an agreed line.” He further stated, “This is a GREAT DAY for the Arab and muslim world, for Israel, neighboring nations and the United States. We thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt and Turkey for helping us make this historic and unprecedented event possible. BLESSED THOSE WHO WORK FOR PEACE!”
Prior to Rubio’s arrival,Trump had indicated to attendees his intention to travel to the Middle East “toward the end of the week,” perhaps including visits to Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
