Roos Moggré’s Future at BnnVara: Will Substitute Role Translate to full-Time Pay?
The move of Roos Moggré from EenVandaag to Pauw & De Wit as a permanent substitute presenter raises the question of whether this transition will result in a full-time salary for the journalist. Moggré will fill in for Jeroen Pauw during his annual winter stays in Curaçao, where he owns a second home.
The uncertainty stems from the cyclical nature of the substitute role. While Moggré leaves her position at AvroTros, it remains unclear if BnnVara intends to employ her full-time beyond covering Pauw’s absences. TV critic Tina Nijkamp noted the significance of the appointment, stating, “It is indeed a big step for her. Because she has never presented a major talk show before.” Several candidates were tested in pilot recordings, with Moggré ultimately selected.
Nijkamp, in her podcast Tina’s TV Update, highlighted the potential for expansion. “I don’t know what else she will do at BnnVara, because a working year obviously does not consist of a few months in the winter,” she said. Currently, Pauw & De Wit does not air on Fridays or Sundays, leaving a gap in the Dutch talk show landscape currently filled only by RTL Tonight.
Speculation exists that BnnVara may consider expanding the show’s broadcast schedule, potentially leading to a more considerable role for Moggré. Whether the program will eventually be branded as “Moggré & De Wit” remains to be seen, but Nijkamp expressed optimism about the possibility. The duration and scope of Moggré’s contract will determine if her move represents a temporary fill-in or a long-term career advancement within BnnVara.
