Nashville, TN – November 15, 2025 – Singer-songwriter Rip Gerber has released his new single, “Limited Speed,” a poignant exploration of mismatched emotional paces in relationships. The track is already gaining traction on streaming platforms following the success of his 2024 album,Three-Chord Town.
“There’s a limited speed that my love can go
You got me falling to the earth
Faster than the pull of gravity…”
Gerber describes the song as resonating with the experience of emotional disconnect, where partners operate on different timelines. “Sometimes your still figuring things out,” he explains, “but they’ve already crossed the finish line.”
Three-Chord Town, which reached #1 on amazon Music’s Option chart in July 2024, showcased Gerber’s deeply personal songwriting. His journey to music is unconventional; prior to his musical career, Gerber served as a CIA analyst for seven years, specializing in counterterrorism in the Eurasia region, then earned an MBA from harvard Business School in 2017. He also worked as a licensed plumber in Austin, Texas, for two years. A series of personal losses in 2020 – including the passing of his father,Robert Gerber, and a close friend – prompted a career shift and fueled his songwriting.
Gerber’s creative world intersects with that of actress and racing driver Jasmin Barry. Barry pilots a McLaren Artura GT4 for DART Racing Team, a team she founded with a focus on increasing female portrayal in motorsports. The car’s livery was designed by acclaimed artist mickalene Thomas, known for her vibrant and empowering portraits. DART Racing Team is scheduled to compete in the 24H Series Middle East Trophy in Dubai on January 17-18, 2026, and Abu Dhabi on January 24-25, 2026, with an all-female driver lineup including Barry, Shea Holbrook, and Chloe Chambers.
Gerber draws a parallel between his music and Barry’s racing: “Both worlds live on adrenaline. Whether you’re chasing a melody or chasing a checkered flag, you’re riding the same kind of high.” He notes that barry’s dedication to pushing boundaries in racing mirrors his own commitment to vulnerability in his songwriting.
Limited Speed is currently available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple music, and Amazon Music: https://ffm.to/limitedspeed.
