Palau, France – Patrick, a 65-year-old retiree, recently marked a important milestone in his aerial pursuits, celebrating his 500th trapeze jump with the Les Mains Blanches association. The accomplishment was honored with a surprise gathering at the association’s hangar.
Patrick discovered his passion for aerobatics just over two years ago after spotting the trapeze setup from his Saint-Cyprien residence. previously, his experience with the activity was limited to a holiday club. however, he found a deeper connection and commitment to trapeze, describing it as an activity “made for him.” The “aerobatic virus,” as the article playfully terms it, has clearly taken hold, with Patrick now training twice weekly at the Palau facility.
His instructors, Ségolène, Émeline, Jean-Baptiste, Mathias, and Max, have witnessed his remarkable progress. For his 500th jump, Patrick performed a “catch with carrier” maneuver, a testament to his dedication and skill growth. Following the celebratory jump, Patrick presented gifts to his instructors, hinting at future aspirations, including a potential 1000th jump celebration.
The Les Mains Blanches association, which offers flying trapeze sessions on Tuesdays and Sundays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at their hangar on rue des Gourgues, praised Patrick for his kindness, sweetness, tenacity, and pugnacity, highlighting his integration into the group as a valued member of their “family.”
