Daya Nueva’s Patron Saint Festivities to Feature ‘attic with views… to Chaos‘ Performance
Daya Nueva’s annual Patron Saint Festivities of San Miguel Arcángel, running September 29th and 30th, will include a performance of the play ‘Attic with Views… to Chaos’ by the Teharto Theater company. The festivities, honoring the town’s patron saint, San Miguel Arcángel, and Morera Day, offer a blend of religious celebrations and community events.
The inclusion of Teharto Theater’s production adds a cultural dimension to the conventional celebrations, providing entertainment alongside the established program of rocket firings, processions, and religious services. The Patron Saint Festivities draw residents and visitors alike, fostering community spirit and showcasing local traditions.
Event Schedule Highlights:
Monday, September 29 – Patron Day, San Miguel Arcángel
* 9:00: Rocket firing.
* 12:00: Rocket firing and misa (mass) in honor of San Miguel Arcángel, sung by the Parish choir at the San Miguel Archangel Parish Church.
* 13:00: Walk to maría del Carmen Baeza park to enjoy the mascle (firework display).
* 19:30: pasacalles (street parade) by the Musical Union ‘San Miguel Archangel’.
* 20:00: Procession in honor of San Miguel Arcángel, accompanied by the Musical Union ‘San Miguel Archangel’, followed by authorities, party organizers, queens, ladies of honor, and the party commission. A traditional dawn firework display will conclude the evening.
Tuesday,September 30 - Morera Day
* 14:00: Community food gathering at the Event Center (attendees bring their own food).
* 20:00: Mass in suffrage of the deceased of the parish at the San Miguel Archangel Parish Church. Nardos from San miguel will be distributed to attendees afterward.
Further festivities for the Virgen del Rosario will begin on saturday, October 11th.
