Franck Haise will take charge of his first home match as Stade Rennais manager on Saturday, facing Toulouse at the Roazhon Park, but will do so without three key players. Jérémy Jacquet, Przemyslaw Frankowski, and Glen Kamara have all been ruled out of the Ligue 1 fixture, according to reports.

Jacquet, a defender set to join Liverpool in the future, is suffering from a shoulder injury, with the possibility of surgery still under consideration. He has been absent for nearly three weeks, initially sustaining the injury during a match against Lens on February 7th. Haise stated he is currently undergoing treatment and rehabilitation, working in the gym, but offered no firm timeline for his return. Frankowski is dealing with a calf problem, while Kamara has a cheville injury.

Despite the absences, Haise has emphasized the importance of maintaining a calm and humble approach. “There have been four wins, everyone is happy. There have been four defeats, then it’s a crisis,” he reportedly said, adding that he intends to remain “very tranquil and very humble” as he settles into his role at Rennes. He stressed the need to detach himself from results in order to create the conditions for success.

Rennes comes into the match following consecutive victories against Paris Saint-Germain (3-1) and Auxerre (3-0), and secured their first clean sheet in eight matches last weekend. The team currently sits in sixth place in Ligue 1, just three points behind Olympique de Marseille for a European qualification spot. Toulouse, conversely, is on a four-match winless streak, with two draws and two losses.

Haise has been focusing on adapting to the strengths of his squad and building confidence. “We are always judged in general, the coach a little more on his results,” he explained. “I have to detach myself from the results to create the conditions for the results. That’s the most essential thing, it’s not always uncomplicated.”

The club is currently evaluating Jacquet’s shoulder and whether or not surgery is required, with further examinations planned to determine the next steps. While Frankowski and Kamara are expected to return to training next week, Jacquet’s recovery remains uncertain.
