Remi Wolf Announces New Album Mud
Remi Wolf is trading the relentless churn of major festival stages and high-profile support runs for a grounded creative reset. The singer-songwriter has announced her third studio album, Mud, slated for release on October 9 via Island Records. The 11-track project arrives alongside the release of the single “Twiggy” and the track “Bottle,” signaling a profound personal and artistic cleansing phase.
The Big Bear Retreat and the Kitchen Microphone Sessions
The journey to Mud began in exhaustion. Following an intense period of near-constant writing, recording, and touring, Wolf described the preliminary writing phase bluntly, stating she felt “covered in shit.”
That realization prompted a retreat to Big Bear, California. Working alongside longtime collaborator Jared Solomon and friends Jack DeMeo, Jamie McLaughlin, and Gigi Grombacher, Wolf cultivated an organic, communal recording dynamic. Pass-around kitchen microphones and family dinners quickly turned the group into what Wolf characterizes as a “family band.”
Trading Digital Polish for Electric Lady Studios
That close-knit collective eventually took their collaborative framework to Electric Lady Studios in New York City before finalizing the record during sessions in Joshua Tree. The group opted to record live tracks together in the same room to favor spontaneity over polish. Wolf frequently stepped behind the drum kit, allowing arrangements to build organically around raw melodies and narrative storytelling.

The resulting 11-track collection stands as an earthy, spacious evolution of the vibrant pop catalog Wolf established across her 2020 EPs, her 2021 full-length debut Juno, and its 2024 follow-up Big Ideas. Her career trajectory includes festival slots at Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo, alongside support tours alongside acts like Lorde, Olivia Rodrigo, and Paramore.
Stepping Into a New Chapter Off and On Screen
Beyond her musical output, Wolf expanded her creative footprint earlier this year by making her screen debut in the Amazon Prime Video series Off Campus. The series premiere featured a cameo appearance by Wolf alongside multiple tracks pulled directly from her existing catalog.
With Mud set to drop on October 9, Wolf steps into her next musical chapter. The project captures an artist reclaiming her creative process through community, live instrumentation, and a deliberate return to spontaneity.
