Real Madrid‘s Momentum Stalls wiht Draw Against Rayo Vallecano
MADRID – real Madrid saw their notable scoring run come to a halt once more, settling for a 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Sunday. The result marks the Spanish giants’ second consecutive setback following a mid-week Champions League defeat at Liverpool.

Despite the draw, Real Madrid maintains its position atop the La Liga table, holding a five-point advantage over Villarreal. However, Barcelona has the prospect to close the gap to just three points with a victory over Celta Vigo later today.
This weekend’s result follows a season of dominant form for Madrid,having secured 13 wins in 15 matches across all competitions. Their only previous losses came against liverpool and a 5-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in September.
Rayo Vallecano, currently 12th in the league, entered the match after a heavy 4-0 loss to Villarreal but buoyed by recent successes in the Europa League and Copa del Rey.
In earlier action on sunday, Athletic Bilbao ended a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over Oviedo. A 25th-minute strike from Nico Williams, who skillfully navigated past three defenders on the left wing, secured the victory for the seventh-placed Bilbao side. Oviedo, meanwhile, continues to struggle, extending their winless run to six matches across all competitions and remaining at the bottom of the table.
