Coronation Street Stars Share Passionate Kiss at Wedding
On-Set Sweethearts Sally Carman and Joe Duttine Steal a Moment
Coronation Street couple Sally Carman and Joe Duttine, who found love on the Manchester set, were spotted sharing a tender kiss while attending the wedding of co-star Jack Shepherd.
A Wedding Day Romance
The actors, known for their roles as Abi Franklin and Tim Metcalfe respectively, appeared inseparable at the ceremony held on Saturday. Sally, 43, looked radiant in a floral yellow skirt and dress coat with striking ruffle detailing and bell sleeves. She completed her look with understated gold earrings and brown tinted sunglasses, opting for comfort with white flip-flops.
Joe, 53, was dapper in a classic black two-piece suit paired with a crisp white shirt. The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, met on the Coronation Street set in 2017.
Working With Your Spouse: A ‘Horrendous’ Delight
Despite their public display of affection, Sally has previously admitted that working alongside her husband can be challenging, though in a humorous way. She revealed that Joe‘s comedic nature often leaves her “in stitches” during filming.

She added that it can be difficult to maintain focus during scenes when her husband is present. “I do tend to watch Joe’s stuff [in Corrie] at home but sometimes it’s hard to get into it because he’s already told me everything about the filming of it.”
A Star-Studded Ceremony
The wedding of Jack Shepherd, who has portrayed David Platt on the ITV show since 2000, to his partner Hanni Treweek was a star-studded affair. Shepherd arrived in a stylish white suit alongside his mother and son, Reuben. Hanni looked stunning in an elegant white gown with intricate lace detailing.
Several other Coronation Street cast members were in attendance, including Lucy Fallon, who stunned in a plunging yellow gown, and Tina O’Brien in a chic blue and white dress. Julia Goulding opted for a vibrant turquoise number. The guest list also featured familiar faces like Samia Longchambon, Colson Smith, Ben Price, Alan Halsall, and Jayne Danson.
Shepherd had previously mentioned that his participation in Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year was to help fund his wedding. This aligns with a trend observed in the entertainment industry, where reality TV appearances can significantly boost earning potential; for example, an average participant in a popular reality show can earn upwards of $100,000 per season (Investopedia, 2024).
Sally Carman, who joined Coronation Street in 2017, has been involved in several dramatic storylines, including the poignant aftermath of her son Seb’s murder. She is also a stepmother to Joe‘s three children. Looking ahead, Carman has expressed a desire to star in a Christmas movie in addition to her Coronation Street commitments.
