karen Huger Released From Jail After Serving Six Months in DUI Case
Potomac, MD – Karen Huger, star of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Potomac, was released from the Montgomery County Detention Center in maryland on September 2, after serving six months of a two-year sentence. she entered the facility on February 27.
Huger’s sentence stemmed from a March 19,2024,single-vehicle collision in Potomac,Maryland. She crashed her 2017 Maserati after losing control of the vehicle, crossing a median and a crosswalk. Huger told TMZ she was emotionally distraught and attempting to avoid a head-on collision.
Following a trial,a jury found Huger guilty of driving under the influence (DUI),negligent driving,failure to control speed to avoid a collision,and failure to notify authorities of an address change. She was acquitted of reckless driving. Prosecutors presented body camera footage and witness testimony during the trial, including evidence of slurred speech and Huger’s refusal to take sobriety tests.
In addition to her jail time, the judge ordered Huger to pay $2,900 in fines, as reported by ABC News.
huger has been a prominent cast member on The Real Housewives of Potomac since its debut in 2016, known for her “Grand Dame” persona and her fragrance line, La’Dame. She last appeared on the show during its ninth season and did not participate in the reunion episodes. She has not been seen filming for the upcoming tenth season, which premieres October 5 on Bravo.
