London,UK – Ray Brennan,a beloved figure in Irish broadcasting and a former voice of Midwest Radio,has passed away at Northwick Park Hospital in London. he was surrounded by family at the time of his death.
Brennan, originally from Mountain Road, Tubbercurry, County Sligo, dedicated years to Midwest Radio, becoming a familiar and trusted voice for listeners across the region. His career in broadcasting touched countless lives, and his passing represents a notable loss to the irish media landscape and the Sligo community. He is predeceased by his wife, Cathriona (Kilgarriff), and his parents, Martin and Delia Brennan, as well as his brother, Sean.
A devoted family man, Brennan is survived by his sons, Gareth and Ivan, and his granddaughter, Emilia. He will be fondly remembered by his daughter-in-law, cynthia; Gareth’s partner, Siân; and his brother, Junior (Mattie) of Ballina, County Mayo. His extended family, including nephew Martin, nieces Lucy, Lara, and Jenna, along with numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and friends, also mourn his loss.
Family and friends wishing to pay their respects are invited to gather at the home of his sister-in-law, Helen rochford-Brennan, on Ballymote Road, Tubbercurry, this Friday evening, September 26th, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Requiem Mass will be held at St. John The Evangelist Church, Tubbercurry, on Saturday, September 27th, at 11:30 AM, followed by burial at Rhue Cemetery.
