The on-loan winger netted in the 61st minute, securing three points for Barcelona and further endearing himself to the Camp Nou faithful. Lamine Yamal had opened the scoring,with Ferran Torres adding a second before halftime. Elche’s Rafa Mir briefly threatened a comeback, but Rashford’s goal ultimately sealed the win. Through 14 appearances with Barcelona,Rashford has contributed six goals and seven assists. He is hoping Barcelona will exercise their option to buy him permanently in June.
Barcelona’s win places them second in LaLiga, five points behind league leaders Real Madrid. Rashford has amassed 138 goals and 78 assists in 426 appearances for Manchester United over the past decade.
