Ranveer & Deepika Support Badminton Legend Prakash – ZoomTV 2026

February 20, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone attended a session at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai on Thursday, February 19, 2026, to support Deepika’s father, badminton legend Prakash Padukone.

The appearance by the couple came days after security was increased at their residence following an extortion threat, according to reports. Ranveer Singh was allegedly asked for Rs 10 crore through a voice note sent to his manager from an American number, with Mumbai police reportedly reaching out to U.S. Authorities for details on the number.

Prakash Padukone was participating in a session titled, “Beyond Winning: What Sports Cultivate in Children,” at the school. Photographs circulating on social media show Ranveer and Deepika seated in the audience alongside Anju Bhavnani, Deepika’s mother-in-law. In one image, Ranveer is seen applauding while Deepika smiles, and her mother-in-law looks on. Another photo shows the trio attentively listening to a question from an attendee.

Deepika Padukone was too photographed on stage with her father and other guests. Actress Sonam Kapoor, who is expecting her second child, was also present at the event, seen in the front row.

Deepika Padukone wore a white ethnic ensemble for the outing, while Ranveer Singh opted for a black trouser suit with a white T-shirt and blazer.

Authorities have identified Harry Boxer, a close aide of the Bishnoi gang, as a potential sender of the extortion threat, according to reports.
