Austin, TX - The harry ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin is now accepting applications for its 2026-2027 research fellowship program, offering up to 50 fellowships to scholars engaging with its extensive collections. The program supports in-depth research across the humanities, encompassing literature, photography, film, art, the performing arts, music, and cultural history.
The Ransom Center’s holdings comprise nearly 45 million literary manuscripts, one million rare books, five million photographs, and over 100,000 works of art. Fellowships are open to graduate students, faculty (current and former at all career stages), and self-reliant researchers-including journalists and artists-requiring substantial on-site access to these materials. Residency durations range from one week to two months, with stipends available to offset travel and research expenses.
Among the Center’s newest acquisitions is the Lorne Michaels Collection, which will be accessible for research beginning in january 2026. Interested applicants are advised to consult the submission instructions for details on residency types and eligibility requirements.
