Baptiste Chassagne claimed victory at the Diagonale des Fous,one of the world’s most grueling ultra-trail races,finishing in 23 hours,31 minutes,and 54 seconds.The challenging Reunion Island course saw yannick Noël secure second place and Aurélien Dunand-Pallaz round out the podium in third.
The Diagonale des Fous, French for “Diagonal of the Madmen,” tests athletes across approximately 174 kilometers and meaningful elevation gain, drawing competitors from around the globe.This year’s race highlighted the competitive spirit of the ultra-trail community, with Chassagne’s win marking a new chapter in the event’s history. Dunand-Pallaz, who recently expressed to L’Equipe that “not another race can better match” his abilities and affection for Reunion Island, achieved a commendable third-place finish despite a fiercely contested field.
