Urías, a native of Magdalena de Kino, Sonora, last played for Los Mochis during the 2019-20 season. His potential return stems from a need to maintain game readiness as he seeks consideration for the Mexican roster in the upcoming World baseball Classic by manager Benjamin Gil. The addition of a player with Urías’s MLB pedigree would inject considerable talent into an already competitive Cañeros lineup, currently vying for the top spot in the LAMP.
The 2022 american League Gold Glove winner, Urías, has established himself as a premier defensive player in the MLB. He achieved the honor while playing for the Baltimore Orioles, showcasing his exceptional fielding abilities. This year, he split time between the orioles and the Houston Astros, compiling a .241 batting average with 11 home runs and 44 RBIs across 112 games.
