Raivo Solstice Prepares for World Cup Walking Debut

Raivo Solstice,a 31-year-old walker,is preparing for ⁣his debut at the World Cup in ⁤Japan. Inspired by his father and leading Latvian walkers,Solstice began walking at age five at a festival in Valmiera.He has ‍become a multiple Latvian ‌champion in various distances, setting a new national record in the 35-kilometer distance last October with a time ⁣of two hours, 33 minutes, and⁣ 31 seconds. He now plans his own training, consulting with ‍his father, Ilmārs, who is also a​ walking coach. Solstice balances his professional career with working as‌ a youth athletics coach.⁣ His goal is to perform well at the World Cup and improve upon his current world ranking.The achievements of ⁣Aigars Fadejeva and Modra Liepiņš at the Sydney Olympics ​served as a meaningful inspiration for​ him.
