The substantial bill, which included expenses such as private jet rentals, led to a rebuke from Neymar Santos, according to reports surfacing in late February 2025.
The initial reports, originating from the Brazilian entertainment program Fofocalizando on SBT, detailed that Santos requested her father’s help to cover the debt. Gaby Cabrini, a presenter on the display, stated that Neymar Santos “gave her a talking to,” urging her to curtail her spending before settling the bill. The information was subsequently reported by multiple Brazilian news outlets, including Metrópoles, UOL, and Jornal Estado de Minas.
While Santos’s financial situation is not modern – she is a known influencer with a substantial social media following – the magnitude of the debt drew attention. UOL noted that despite her wealth, the incident demonstrated a relatable reliance on family support. The reports indicate the spending occurred during the holiday season, a period often associated with increased expenditure.
Neymar Santos, in a prior interview with the podcast RoundCast, had already alluded to the challenges of parenting Rafaella, stating she “gives more work” than his son, the professional footballer. This comment suggests a pattern of financial or behavioral issues requiring parental intervention. The recent incident appears to confirm those earlier observations.
Santos is currently in a renewed relationship with footballer Gabigol, following a history of on-again, off-again dating since 2015. The couple publicly reaffirmed their relationship in December 2024 with a trip to Japan, and again during Gabigol’s presentation with the Cruzeiro football club. There is no indication, still, that Gabigol contributed to covering the credit card debt.
