Rafael Cavada and Diana Aurenque End Relationship,Citing Personal Struggles
Santiago,Chile – Chilean journalist Rafael Cavada announced the end of his relationship with philosopher Diana Aurenque on thursday, citing the strain his ongoing personal issues have placed on her. The announcement, made via an Instagram post, comes a little over a year after Cavada publicly acknowledged Aurenque as “the head of my smiles.”
Cavada’s statement reveals a mutual decision reached after careful consideration. He explained that his “load” – stemming from a prior domestic violence accusation from which he was ultimately dismissed – had become an unfair burden for Aurenque. “Today your smile is more elusive and I do not want it to continue like this,” he wrote. “It is not fair that this whole load – which I must solve – ends on your shoulders.”
Aurenque entered Cavada’s life during a difficult period, following a complaint of domestic violence that was later dropped. Cavada acknowledged her essential support during the accusations, online aggression, and job instability that followed.
He continued, “You do not deserve this endless path, supporting someone caught in unsustainable situations and in a very long process in the hands of a well-intentioned justice, but dilentic, clumsy and often deaf and indifferent.” Despite the breakup, Cavada emphasized that their “affective responsibility does not extinguish” and they will remain a family.
Aurenque responded to the post with a message of support: “Always family, endurance.”
