Racing Bulls’ Stunning Japanese GP Livery: F1 Fans React
Suzuka, Japan – Racing Bulls unveiled a striking new livery for the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix during a Red Bull Tokyo Drift event on Saturday, drawing overwhelmingly positive reactions from Formula 1 fans online.
The design, a collaboration with renowned Japanese calligrapher Bisen Aoyagi, features a white base accented with cherry red and incorporates traditional Japanese shodo calligraphy. The livery was revealed as part of a larger event that included over 500 custom cars and drift performances, according to team statements.
Fan responses, largely shared on platforms like Reddit, have been enthusiastic. Comments highlighted the aesthetic appeal of the red color scheme and the successful integration of Japanese artistic elements. Several fans expressed a desire for the livery to become a permanent feature for the team.
“Holy f*** that goes hard. That shade of red is stunning,” one Reddit user commented. Another noted the similarity to a previous Honda-inspired livery used by Red Bull Racing at Suzuka last year. Multiple fans initiated online petitions calling for the team to retain the design for the remainder of the 2026 season.
The livery’s design draws inspiration from the new Red Bull Spring Edition can, blending Formula 1 aesthetics with Japanese culture, Aoyagi explained. “Calligraphy captures movement in a single brushstroke, just like racing captures speed in a decisive moment,” she said.
Racing Bulls CEO Peter Bayer emphasized the importance of connecting with local cultures and younger fans through the special livery. “Together with Bisen Aoyagi, we transformed this bold design into something truly unique for the circuit,” Bayer stated.
The team currently sits sixth in the 2026 Constructors’ Championship with 12 points. Liam Lawson is ninth in the Drivers’ Championship with eight points, while his teammate, rookie Arvid Lindblad, is tenth with four points. The Japanese Grand Prix is scheduled to accept place at the Suzuka Circuit from March 27-29.
Merchandise featuring the Japanese Grand Prix Collection, including caps, prints, t-shirts, and sweatshirts, is now available to fans, with prices ranging from £41 to £199.
