What is Rabies?

The primary mode of transmission is through the saliva of infected animals,usually via bites,but also through scratches or licks on broken skin or mucous membranes.
How Can I Get Rabies?
The most common way to contract rabies is by being bitten, licked, or scratched by an animal infected with the rabies virus. During vacations, particularly in regions where rabies is endemic, individuals may encounter stray dogs and cats, or wild animals such as monkeys and bats, which can carry the virus.
How Can I Prevent Rabies?
Preventing rabies involves a proactive approach to animal interactions. It is essential to avoid all contact with unfamiliar animals, especially stray or wild ones. Do not touch dead animals, as they may still be infectious.
