QVC Group Inc., the parent company of QVC and HSN, is in discussions with creditors regarding a potential restructuring of its $6.6 billion debt, a process that could lead to a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, according to reports from Bloomberg and other news outlets.
The company, a mainstay of televised shopping for 39 years, has been grappling with a confluence of financial pressures. These include a significant decline in traditional television viewership, a 66% drop in stock price on February 10, 2026 – landing at $3.74 a share – and the require to address outstanding tax liabilities, sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.
QVC Group CEO David Rawlinson acknowledged the challenges facing the company during a November 2025 earnings call, citing “diminishing TV viewership” as a key factor impacting growth. “Returning our company to growth continues to be tricky as challenges persist,” Rawlinson stated.
In an effort to adapt to the changing media landscape, QVC Group has been consolidating operations and shifting its focus toward digital platforms. In January 2025, the company announced the closure of its HSN campus in St. Petersburg, Florida, consolidating operations at its Studio Park location in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Rawlinson, at the time, described the move as a strategy to “lean further into social and streaming,” and to “redefine who we are as a company and the role we play for our customers.” The company stated its goal was to build a “next-generation content engine” capable of rapidly producing content for various digital channels.
The restructuring efforts also included workforce reductions. In March 2025, QVC Group announced the layoff of approximately 900 employees, representing about 5% of its total workforce, according to CBS Philadelphia.
As of September 30, QVC Group had $6.6 billion in outstanding group debt, according to regulatory filings. Negotiations with creditors are ongoing and no final decision regarding a bankruptcy filing has been made, sources said. The outcome of these discussions remains uncertain.
