Breaking: Word puzzle enthusiasts are tackling today’s Quordle, a challenging variant of the popular Wordle game. Hints and solutions for the August 6, 2024 puzzle are available below, but beware of spoilers!
Quordle, created by Merriam-Webster, tests players’ vocabulary and deduction skills. Available at Quordle, the game requires players to guess four five-letter words together within nine attempts. Correctly guessed letters appear in green, while letters present in the words but in the wrong position are highlighted in yellow.
For newcomers, practice games are available to familiarize themselves with the mechanics before attempting the daily challenge.

- Word 1 (top left) hint – to place somthing down with force or to lightly touch a stringed instrument.
- Word 2 (top right) hint – an individual authorized to act on behalf of another, notably in voting contexts.

- Word 4 (bottom right) hint – a lustrous,iridescent gem formed within the shells of certain mollusks.
- None of the four words contain duplicate letters.
- All four words begin with the letters P, P, C, and P, respectively.
