Boland Acquitted of Attempted Murder in Tenant Dispute

No Attempted Murder Charge

The Gilly resident was acquitted of attempted murder, as the court considered that a weapon was present, without being able to determine whether it was a real firearm or an alarm pistol, or whether the weapon was loaded. The noise heard by the victim when the weapon was in his mouth could well “mean that the weapon was not loaded.”
To justify the sentence pronounced, the court cited the accused’s disturbing personality with antisocial and narcissistic traits, his history of violence, and his lack of remorse.
