Queen Camilla’s New Eyebrows: The £1,600 Transformation
Queen Camilla has subtly altered her appearance with a semi-permanent eyebrow treatment, a detail confirmed by London-based aesthetician Suzanne Martin. The treatment, known as “Couture Brow,” has given the Queen’s eyebrows a fuller, more defined shape, sparking public interest and revealing a modern approach to royal beauty standards.
The change in Camilla’s eyebrows first drew attention last summer, with observers noting a darker, more sculpted look. Martin, dubbed the “Eyebrow Queen” for her expertise, utilizes a technique involving a tattoo pen to intricately draw individual hairs onto the skin, creating a natural-looking effect. The process begins with a detailed consultation to determine the ideal color and shape, followed by the application of hypoallergenic, custom-blended mineral pigment just beneath the skin’s surface.
The “Couture Brow” treatment requires two 90-minute sessions, totaling $1,870, with recommended top-up appointments every eight to ten months at a cost of $1,070. Martin, a former makeup artist for Christian Dior, is known for her attention to detail and gentle approach, which she describes as feeling more like a scratch than traditional microblading.
Martin initially acknowledged her work with the Queen in a social media post, stating, “Our beloved Queen Camilla, always a pleasure! Thank you for trusting me…”, though the post was later removed. She has since emphasized that the results are “always perfectly natural.” Martin operates primarily from The Lanesborough Club & Spa in London, but as well offers services at private residences, reportedly including the Queen’s.
The Queen’s choice to undergo the treatment reflects a broader trend of embracing subtle aesthetic enhancements, even within traditionally conservative circles. The technique, which utilizes fine needle strokes and a blend of colors to mimic natural eyebrows, offers a low-maintenance solution for achieving a polished look. Martin’s clientele also includes celebrities such as Ellie Goulding and Dua Lipa, demonstrating the treatment’s appeal across various demographics.
While the Queen has not publicly commented on the treatment, the transformation has been widely discussed in the British media. The subtle change highlights a shift in how even established figures within the monarchy approach personal presentation, balancing tradition with contemporary beauty practices.
