Quarterback Training: Drills Without a Football | 3DQB SoCal 2026

February 18, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

A recent social media post from 3DQB SOCAL showcased quarterbacks training “without the football,” prompting a closer look at the Huntington Beach-based elite quarterback training program and its growing influence within the NFL and collegiate ranks.

The February 16th post, which garnered 219 likes and 3 comments on Facebook, highlighted a drill focusing on fundamental mechanics independent of the physical act of throwing. This approach reflects 3DQB’s core philosophy, which emphasizes biomechanics, motion analysis, and mental conditioning as foundational elements of quarterback development.

3DQB, which stands for “Three Dimensional Quarterback,” was founded on the principle that efficient and accurate throwing extends beyond simply mastering mechanics. According to the company’s website, every throw must be “properly timed and kinematically sequenced as well as be mechanically sound to be efficient.” The program utilizes a “4 legs of the performance table” approach, encompassing biomechanics instruction, activation and preparation, nutrition analysis, and injury risk minimization.

The training regimen has attracted a number of high-profile NFL quarterbacks, including Dak Prescott, who has worked with 3DQB coaches, led by John Beck, for four consecutive offseasons. The company notes that Prescott’s training with 3DQB contributed to the development of his pregame “Dak Dance” routine. Matt Ryan has also publicly acknowledged the program’s impact on his development, and Jared Goff reportedly visited 3DQB’s facilities more than 30 times during one offseason, according to Sports Illustrated.

3DQB’s methods incorporate 3D motion analysis to identify and correct mechanical inefficiencies, alongside functional strength and conditioning tailored to the specific demands of the quarterback position. The program also places significant emphasis on mental training and nutritional guidance, recognizing the importance of these factors in maximizing performance and ensuring long-term health. Tom House is also listed as a key figure in the training process.

The company, located at 15744 Goldenwest St in Huntington Beach, California, serves NFL, college, and youth quarterbacks, according to its YouTube channel. Interested athletes can contact 3DQB at (213) 595-1310 for an evaluation.

3DQB’s mission statement, as outlined on its website, is “TO INFORM, INSTRUCT, AND INSPIRE QUARTERBACKS TO MAXIMIZE BOTH PHYSICAL AND MENTAL POTENTIAL FOR IN GAME COMPETITION.”
