Qobuz Connect & Hi-Res Streaming Now Available via Speaker Firmware Update
Qobuz Connect now supports direct wireless streaming to a growing number of compatible devices, including speakers and amplifiers, at studio quality of up to 24-bit/192kHz. The upgrade, announced this month, allows users to connect directly to Qobuz servers without the need for intermediary applications or devices.
The integration expands the availability of Qobuz’s high-resolution audio streaming service to a wider range of home audio equipment. Previously, users often relied on third-party apps or devices to access Qobuz content on their existing systems. Qobuz Connect aims to streamline this process, offering a more seamless listening experience.
A list of brands currently integrated with Qobuz Connect includes 3D Lab, Aavik & Axxess, Arcam, Arylic, Astell & Kern, Atoll Electronique, Audiolab, Auralic, Aurender, Autonomic Controls, AVA Group, AVM Audio, Ayon Audio, Ayre Acoustics, B Audio, BelCanto, BluOS, Burmester, Cary Audio, CH Precision, Conversdigital, Cyrus Audio, Dan D’agostino, Denon, Dynaudio, Electro Companiet, Emm Labs, Esoteric, Eversolo, Gold Note, Hegel, Hifi Rose, IdeonAudio, iFi Audio, Inklang, Innuos, JBL Prenium Audio, JL Audio, Kalista, KEF, Kii Audio, Lindemann, Lumin, Luxman, Lyngdorf Audio, Marantz, Matrix Audio, MBL Akustikgeräte, McIntosh, Metronome, Monitor Audio, Moon, NAD Electronics, Nagra, Naim Audio, Octavio, Onkyo, Playback Designs, PS Audio, PSB Speakers, Quad, Rockna Audio, Rotel, Ruark Audio, Shanling, Silent Angel, Sonoro Audio, SOtM, T+A, Teac, Technics, Totaldac, Volumio, Wadax, Wattson Audio, and Wiim. The Qobuz Connect feature allows users to control music playback directly from the Qobuz app, eliminating the need to switch between applications or manage multiple remote controls. The service also remembers a user’s listening position, allowing playback to resume from the same point when switching between devices, such as from headphones to a home stereo system.
According to Qobuz, the system is compatible with all types of internet-connected devices. Users experiencing issues with a device from a listed brand have been directed to contact the manufacturer directly for support.
Qobuz has not announced a specific timeline for further integrations or feature expansions beyond the current capabilities of Qobuz Connect.
