Puzzle Barn: RI Kids’ Blizzard Activity & WPRI Recommendation

February 26, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

Providence, Rhode Island, has been selected as the Team Base Camp for the Ghana Football Association during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the association announced Thursday.

Bryant University will serve as the official training site for the Ghanaian national team, according to the announcement reported by WPRI 12 News. The selection of Providence marks a significant logistical step for Ghana as they prepare for the expanded 48-team tournament, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The decision to base operations in Providence offers Ghana access to state-of-the-art training facilities at Bryant University, as well as accommodation and support services within the city. The choice of Rhode Island reflects a broader trend among participating nations to secure training camps and accommodations well in advance of the tournament, ensuring optimal preparation for their squads.

WPRI 12 News similarly highlighted local entertainment options for residents potentially impacted by the Blizzard of ’26, recommending a visit to The Puzzle Barn in Seekonk, Massachusetts, as featured in a recent segment of “Street Stories.” The segment, hosted by Johnny Villella and Mike Montecalvo, showcased the business as a local attraction.

The “Street Stories Unpaved” series, as detailed on WPRI’s website, originated with Villella and Montecalvo seeking to highlight unique local businesses and personalities. The series has evolved over time, focusing on community engagement and storytelling.
