Putin’s System ‘Will Explode’: Russian Blogger Predicts Imminent Change

March 22, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

A pro-Kremlin blogger has predicted the imminent collapse of Vladimir Putin’s system, forecasting “interesting events” in the coming months as internal contradictions within the Russian elite intensify. Ilya Remeslo, known for previously predicting the decline of Putin’s regime, has now specified that the system is poised to “explode,” according to reports from Dialog.ua.

Remeslo claims that nearly 99% of Russian war correspondents agree with his assessment, though this claim could not be independently verified. He argues that Putin must undertake systemic reforms to maintain power, but is unwilling to do so, leading to a situation where “the system will bury him.”

The blogger anticipates these “interesting events” could occur sooner than autumn, suggesting a potentially rapid unraveling of the current political order. Remeslo pointed to growing discord among key figures within the Russian military and government, specifically mentioning Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov and Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov.

Notably, Remeslo highlighted a recent shift in rhetoric from Vladimir Solovyov, a prominent pro-Kremlin television personality, who has begun publicly criticizing the Ministry of Defense and the Central Bank of Russia. “Every conflict drives a wedge into the system, and I think the system will eventually explode,” Remeslo stated.

Remeslo also referenced the Wagner Group’s attempted march on Moscow in 2023, noting that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko played a role in averting a potentially humiliating outcome for Putin.

These statements have drawn a response from Apti Alaudinov, an aide to the head of Chechnya, who accused Remeslo of making “terrible things” and suggested he may be acting under duress. Remeslo denied these claims. Alaudinov further characterized Remeslo as a supporter of the current Kremlin regime with ties to intelligence services, and alleged his involvement in the imprisonment of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. This claim could not be independently verified.

According to the Russian Embassy in Latvia’s website, the embassy in Riga is located at Ukrainas Neatkarības Iela 2, Riga, LV-1010, with a consular section reachable at +371 67 305 255 and +371 67 212 579. The website also notes the existence of Russian visa application centers managed by private companies in 32 countries, handling visa processing due to high demand.

As of March 20, 2026, the Kremlin website lists a scheduled meeting of Russia’s Security Council, following a telephone conversation between President Putin and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the same day. A telephone conversation between President Putin and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was held on March 21, 2026.
