Punk In The Park Canceled: Trump Donation Fallout Ends Festival’s Run

The Punk in the Park festival series has canceled all of its 2026 events, organizers announced today, citing an untenable climate following controversy over a political donation made by the festival’s owner.

The cancellation impacts scheduled events in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (April 18th), Orlando, Florida (May 2nd), and Vallejo, California (May 23rd). A statement released by the festival promised full refunds to ticket holders, which will be processed automatically within the next week.

The fallout stems from a $225 donation made by Cameron Collins, owner of Brew Ha Ha Productions – the company behind Punk in the Park – to Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. News of the donation first surfaced last year, prompting Dropkick Murphys to sever ties with the festival and a petition calling for its shutdown. Collins, at the time, defended his contribution, stating his belief that the American two-party system is too narrow and highlighting common ground on issues like anti-racism and human rights.

The issue resurfaced this week when the Dead Kennedys announced they had only recently learned of Collins’ support for Trump. While the band stated they would honor their commitments to perform at the Pittsburgh and Vallejo dates out of respect for fans who had already purchased tickets, they declared they would not book any further Punk in the Park events. This decision drew criticism from Jello Biafra, the band’s former frontman, who accused the Dead Kennedys of hypocrisy for accepting payment while simultaneously disavowing the festival.

In its statement announcing the cancellation, Punk in the Park expressed disappointment, stating, “This is incredibly disappointing for everyone involved. Our goal has always been to bring people together through music, community, and shared passion and it’s painful when circumstances prevent that from happening.” The festival organizers expressed hope that the cancellation would be a “pause” rather than a permanent end to the event.

Brew Ha Ha Productions as well produces other music festivals, including Punk in Drublic, Summer Roots, Silverado Showdown, and Camp Anarchy. As of today, the status of those events remains unchanged.
