Punisher: The Last Kill Release Date Revealed | Frank Castle’s Final Ride?

March 24, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

Marvel has set a May 12th release date for “A Marvel Television Special Presentation: The Punisher: One Last Kill,” a one-hour episode starring Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle, according to announcements made Tuesday by both Marvel and Bernthal via his Instagram page.

The special will debut on Disney+ concurrent with the finale of the eight-episode second season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” which begins streaming new episodes weekly. Bernthal previously appeared in the first season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” reuniting his character with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil after both characters originated in Marvel’s earlier Netflix series.

Details surrounding the plot of “One Last Kill” have begun to emerge following on-set photography last summer. Leaked images depict Castle confronting Isabella Carmela Magdalena “Ma” Gnucci, a character from Marvel Comics known as a mafia boss seeking retribution for the deaths of her sons at the hands of the Punisher. The images show Gnucci, a character who in the comics survived a brutal attack by polar bears orchestrated by Castle and was left quadriplegic, in a wheelchair.

While casting for the role of Gnucci has not been officially announced, the special is being positioned as a significant event for fans of the darker corners of the Marvel universe. Forbes reported Tuesday that the special is being billed as Castle’s “last ride,” though the publication noted this may not necessarily be the character’s final appearance.

“A Marvel Television Special Presentation: The Punisher: One Last Kill” is the third television special within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It serves as a direct sequel to “The Punisher” and builds upon storylines established in the first season of “Daredevil: Born Again.”

Marvel has not yet released further details regarding casting or specific plot points beyond the confrontation with Gnucci. The company has indicated that additional news will be forthcoming prior to the May 12th premiere on Disney+.
