Puerto Rico Basketball Federation to Address Player Commitment Following FIBA Window Losses
SAN JUAN, puerto Rico – The Puerto Rico Basketball Federation (FBPUR) will meet with General Manager Carlos Arroyo and Head Coach Carlos González to discuss player availability and commitment following a challenging start to the FIBA qualifying windows, announced FBPUR President Yum Ramos.
ramos acknowledged concerns regarding player participation, an issue previously raised by González after the team’s second game. While details of the discussion remain undisclosed, Ramos stated, “there is a lot of room for improvement and we need greater commitment for future events.”
The FBPUR plans to outline a plan of action following the meeting with Arroyo, the National team Committee, and González.
Several key players were unavailable for the recent window, including NBA player Jose Alvarado (New Orleans Pelicans), who was actively playing, and Tai Odiase, sidelined by injury. Ysmael Romero, George Conditt IV, and jordan Howard were competing in Asian leagues, and Ethan Thompson had signed a two-way contract with the Indiana Pacers.
The National Team’s losses have complicated their path to qualification for the World Cup.
